My first Mother’s Day. Despite the smile, I was suffering from daily, severe panic attacks and prenatal depression from chronic stress.

I know how you feel

 

When I was pregnant, I was stressed, constantly exhausted, and felt completely disconnected from my pregnancy. I just wanted to hibernate. My job was so taxing, mentally and physically, that I was suffering complications from chronic stress. I was put on medical leave at 7 months pregnant due to horrible prenatal anxiety and depression that left me feeling detached from my baby, when I had previously felt so bonded with her. My midwife was concerned I would have a preterm labor.

 

Bedridden at home, I still felt all the anxiety, stress, and fatigue. My body was so used to this state of chronic stress that it wouldn’t let go.

 

Once I learned to reduce my stress, my pregnancy completely changed for the better!

 

My body relaxed and healed, I felt re-energized, and reconnected with my growing baby.

 

After my pregnancy, I quit my stressful job to become a doula and health coach, specializing in pregnancy and postpartum to help moms-to-be regain their sense of calm, energy, and connection.
